High CD8+ TIL abundance associates with decreased recurrence in MIUC

The relative immune cell scoring for CD8+ T-cells were dichotomized as high and low to determine its impact on bladder cancer outcome. Low CD8+ TIL abundance significantly associated with earlier disease recurrence (a) in a subset of 318 patients with available recurrence data. The association between CD8+ T-cell abundance and overall survival (b) was also significant. Basal squamous tumors showed two distinct groups of high and low CD8+ T-cell abundance with a significant association with disease recurrence within (c) and a trend for significance in predicting shorter overall survival for this MIUC subtype (d)
