Expression of IRF8 within metastatic renal cell carcinoma tumors is associated with improved patient survival. Patients with high levels of IRF8 (score ≥ 2) expression within metastasis had prolonged progression-free and overall survival compared to patients with IRF8 low (score < 2) metastatic tumors (log-rank test).
